About the Author

Carolyn Higgs is a storyteller with a gift for weaving folklore, memory, and mystery into tales that feel both timeless and deeply personal. Fascinated by the ways history, silence, and family legacies shape communities, she creates narratives that linger long after the last page is turned. Carolyn reflects her passion for exploring how ordinary lives are bound by extraordinary forces and how resilience emerges through shared memory and connection.

When she is not writing, Carolyn finds inspiration in quiet walks through wooded paths, listening to the way nature holds stories of its own. She believes that stories are not only meant to be told but also remembered, carried forward like lanterns that guide others through the dark. With her writing, Carolyn continues to invite readers into worlds where echoes matter, silence is challenged, and belonging is reimagined.

About the Author

I started writing down stories when I was 9 to 12 years of age. Then later in life I found the green notebook that I decided to write my stories down in. My husband told me that it would be a good idea to get them published. I was skeptical at first, but I did write them down so why not get them published. He did tell me that the worst thing that could happen was telling me no. Twice so I sent in some children’s book stories. And they got published.

Meanwhile I was a nurse for 26 years and I raised three children. My mother also lived with me; she passed away 2015 because of brain cancer. I continued as a nurse, owned 2 businesses, and ran for

mayor of Forest Grove OR. Then in 2018, I unfortunately had to relocate for my nursing career. I relocated to La Pine OR and worked at Saint Charles bend hospital. After getting sick and having to readjust what I was used to and remap my life.

I decided to start to crochet, then I decided to re write some of my books, particularly the novels, one being published, add more coming. With my son dying and September 23rd, 2023, and bend OR. I continue to write in honor of him.

Because he knew I enjoyed it, and keeping my mind busy and occupied, I have last time to, dwell on the fact that I have no career. No order to crochet. I am writing these books to share with you.

Now being 2025, I am living in La Pine Oregon And sharing these stories with you. My hope is that you enjoy reading them just as much as I enjoyed sharing them. Yeah
